In all my own stubborness, I try to be open-minded. I mean there's always great ideas out there and we can always learn a new way to do things.
I try very hard to remain open-minded whenever I am going into a new situation or am hearing about a new way to do something. I try not to have preconceived notions that will block me from learning something new. Doesn't always work, but I try.
I think being open-minded has to be paired with common sense. You can be open to new ideas and opinions, but you also can't be so open-minded that your brains fall out. There has to be balance or it can lead to foolish behavior and foolish decisions.
Most of the time it is good to have an open mind. It can lead to learning new ways of doing things. It can lead to new friendships. It can lead to understanding. It can lead to letting go of things that have been held onto too tightly, for too long. That's not to say throw caution to the wind and forget about the sense of right and wrong that guides us. It just opens the door to new possibilities, new ideas and new creativity.
