I was super excited when I found out I was going to be able to review this ornament. It looked beautiful in the photo I saw, but holding it in my hands after opening the box, the first word that came to mind was exquisite! It is absolutely gorgeous!

This Reed and Barton mouth blown, hand painted glass ornament is more than just a pretty dangle to hang on the tree.  This is called "Journey" and it is artwork from Anabel, from a young cancer patient in the Children's Art Project at the MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital. 

Anabel's design depicts Joseph and Mary's journey to Bethlehem. The dark blue, star studded sky shows dawn approaching on the horizon. The colors are rich, accented with glitter and hand set SWAROVSKI  elements. It sparkles and shimmers in the light. Each 5 1/4 inch high ornament is also signed by the artist. I can not express how truly beautiful this ornament is! 

Another beautiful thing about this and the other ornaments available from Reed and Barton is that it is a Gift with A Cause. A portion of the the sale of the ornament return to the MD Anderson Cancer Center to fund patient-focused programs that ease and enrich the lives of these young patients. I know for me, I am the one feeling enriched, just being able to hold this young artist's work. That these young patients have the fortitude to create such beauty while facing the challenges that cancer has put in front of them, just amazes me.
