Product Review: StyloPhora Ice Ball Molds

#sphereicemold

These are some really neat ice ball molds! I was sent a set of these to review and I can say there have been some real improvements in the way you can make ice balls at home. These are heavy duty silicone molds that are very easy to use.

A collapsible silicone funnel is included with the three molds. The lines on the top show you how full to fill them.
This one was actually TOO full! :0

Then you just pop them in the freezer for 4-6 hours. When you're ready for a beverage, just Remove the top piece then press on the bottom to pop the ice ball right into your glass! The first few times I had trouble with this part, but then I found that I could push with both thumbs to push the ball out of the bottom part. Reading the direction DOES help ;)
Ice balls are known for being used with whiskey based drinks, but they are great for any beverage. They are slower to melt, slower to dilute your drink. And they just make for a smoother experience because the ball just floats. There is no cubes sticking together or popping up and knocking you in the teeth.
The molds make large, perfectly round ice balls.

That are great for any beverage to wish to enjoy.
Freeze using the punch you'll be serving and then float them in the punch bowl! With Summer scorching down on us, another idea is to use ice balls to keep your pet's water cool! There are many possibilities for using ice balls!
