Review: Ozeri 360 Oscillation Tower Fan, with Micro-Blade Noise Reduction Technology

I was super excited to be asked to review this Tower Fan from Ozeri. I knew from my previous use of their products that this would have the same quality and usefulness. The fan happened to arrive right as we were hit with another wave of bitterly cold weather and our temperatures plummeted to single digits! Not very common for our area. No way I couldn't turn on a cooling fan when we were struggling to stay warm! My first thought when the weather man said we would begin warming up, was that I would finally get to try out the fan! It has exceeded my expectations! There were many more features and functions than I anticipated.
When the fan arrived I had to assemble the base, but it was super simple and I completed it in just a few moments. Assembling the base, plugging it in and putting the included battery in the remote were all I needed to do and the fan was ready.

Within moments from across the room we could feel the cooling breeze. We love that the fan has a quiet operation. We can have it on and it doesn't disrupt us while watching television or talking. It is even quiet when we have it oscillating.

The remote control is a great feature too! You can control all the functions without running back and forth to the fan. You can choose from 3 wind speeds, 3 breeze patterns, set a timer so the fan automatically turns of, set a temperature so the fan will turn on and off based on your target temperature and you can choose from four oscillation setting: 60, 90, 120 or 360 degrees. The is also a night mode display that dims the icons on the LED screen.
The Tower Fan measures just under 38 inches tall and only 6 inches wide, which makes it an awesome choice for small spaces. The remote control is about 3 1/2 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide. There is a convenient built in compartment for the remote on the back of the fan. The fan is light weight so moving it to suit your needs is an easy task.

Summer has not arrived yet and I am already in love with the Tower Fan. I know this will be super for us once those triple digit, heat index days come back in and blast us with heat!

Review: The Original Butter Bell® Crock

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I received a Butter Bell® Crock to review and offer my opinion. I've known people that leave their on the counter and often wondered whether you were supposed to do that. It seemed kind of weird after spending my whole life being taught refrigerated items needed to stay refrigerated. Needless to say, I was really freaked out a few months ago when a I learned if you re-apply the bloom to (store bought) eggs, they can last for months and months in the fridge.... or out!
When the Butter Bell® Crock arrived I had never seen anything like it and had never heard of this technique for keeping butter. I did learn that this is a modern version of the original French butter crock. I wasn't sure what to expect. So I got out the butter and let it get soft enough to work with. After it softened, I followed the directions to fill the crock.
After washing and drying the crock, I used a spoon to pack the butter into the red bell shaped part. I wasn't sure it would hold an entire stick of butter, but it did! I then added about 1/4 of a cup of cold water to the striped crock.

Then I turned the bell upside down and placed it into the crock. That's it! So simple! The cold water provides an airtight barrier and at the same time the temperature of the water keeps the butter just cool enough while leaving it completely spreadable. And the water doesn't alter or change the butter in any way. Amazing! The Original Butter Bell® crock allows butter to be kept at room temperature, on the counter or tabletop, for up to 30 days without spoilage, refrigeration or odors. Made from New Bone China, the highest quality ceramics available, the Butter Bell crock insures that under reasonable, correct usage, butter storage time can be up to 30 days. Most Butter Bell users consume a crock’s worth of butter within one week.

The Butter Bell® crock holds up to one full stick (1/2 cup) of butter. Soft, spreadable butter may be enjoyed and served right from the crock. Proper maintenance: Water should be changed out every three days. Replace existing water in the base with fresh, cold water.

We have been using it for the last week and I love it! There is no more waiting for butter to soften, no more microwaving and ending up with a stick of liquid. We had waffles for breakfast last weekend, and it was great to smear on a little butter without tearing up our waffles. I made toasted cheese sandwiches one night as part of dinner and with this little gem, I was able to butter the bread without mangling the slices or leaving them unrecognizable shreds. I love this new addition to my kitchen!
The Butter Bell crocks are 4 inches in height and 3.5 inches in diameter. There are multiple styles and several colors to choose from.
Butter Bell® Crock is a brand name of butter crocks owned and distributed by L. Tremain. They are the brand leader and largest seller of butter crocks in the US. The product line was also recently featured on the Food Network on the show "Unwrapped" which is shown on their website - http://www.butterbell.com/how-to-use-butter-bell-crock/ .
There is a terrific Mother's Day Special Offer coming up - For every two Butter Bell crocks that you purchase, you get a free crock. What a great gift for all the cooks in your family! The Time I Lost My Wedding Ring

Have you ever lost your wedding ring? If you have, you must know that sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach. It has happened twice to me, but the second time was totally the worst and most horrifying. It happened several years ago. I went to put my rings on and they just weren't anywhere. My wedding ring is both my engagement and wedding band together. I had them melded together so they wouldn't rub and wear the bands unevenly. Having them come up missing caused me panic and tons of stress! It isn't that they are worth untold amounts of money.... it's that I know how much time and thought my Mister put into finding the setting and then finding a special diamond.
So, it was about a week or so before Thanksgiving one year when this happened. We were doing lots of running around and when I realized they were missing, I began trying to retrace my steps... each time I ended up back at the same place.. I had slipped off my jewelry while in the car to put some lotion on my hands. I had remember placing them in the fold of my shirt in my lap but for the life of me, could not remember putting them back on. I searched the house and the car over and over. I dumped out my entire purse and emptied every pocket in it as well as my wallet. I didn't tell my husband at first. I didn't want to upset him. I was turning myself inside out emotionally with each passing day. Thanksgiving came and we went next door to his grandma's house for a family dinner, but I was so miserable. His moma knew something was wrong the moment she saw me and I just burst into tears when I told her what happened. We walked back home afterward the dinner and after my Mister fell asleep I slipped back outside to the driveway and began crawling on my hands and knees with a flashlight, just in case I had dropped them on the ground. Our driveway is graveled and I scarcely remember the rocks grinding into my flesh and poking my bones. I was out there for a long time. I finally crept back into the house, defeated once again. In the morning I told my husband as I started crying...AGAIN. He just said "They have to be somewhere. They'll turn up". He didn't even act upset! I had looked high and low, searched the car at least three times, emptied my purse everyday for a week, crawled all over the driveway. It felt hopeless. I didn't know what else to do or where else to look so I bowed my head and I begged, BEGGED God to lead me to them....I'm not a particularly religious person. We don't even have a church we attend. But I knew I was not getting anywhere. I resisted the urge to look for my rings that day and just kept repeating my prayer. The next day I woke up and felt different. The hopeless feeling was gone. Later that evening after the Mister had gotten home from work, we both looked around for the jewelry a little and he asked if I had checked my purse. Uh YEAH. Like 100 times. But even as I said yes, I picked it up and began methodically removing every thing just like I had done countless times. He searched the couch and chairs. I laid each item our on the table, if it had a pouch or pocket I emptied those as well. The last item was my wallet, which after the repeated searches was super light because I had taken the time to take out all the loose change from the zippered pocket, threw out all the old papers and receipts and all the odds and ends that had ended up there. I unsnapped the flap an began removing my credit and gift cards, then the photos, then the card with all our family member's phone numbers... discount card bought from some student standing outside at Lowe's... and then it was empty once again. I stared into the empty slots and divided spaces, that defeated, hopeless feeling creeping back over me... the only thing left to do was open the single zippered compartment before I began putting everything back into the proper places.... I pinched the little zipper pull and pulled it back.... and there sitting pretty as could be were the rings! I burst into tears... AGAIN! Which brought the Mister running over to see what was the matter... he said "see they were there the whole time!" I showed him the table and how neatly everything was laid out and told him I had done this ritual for a full week before I even told him the jewelry was missing. I showed him the coins I took out of that very zippered pocket and put into a jar. Those rings were not there during my previous searches. I don't know how or why and I'm not sure I want to know, but my desperate prayer was answered. I have been ultra careful about my wedding rings since then. I chose a place to keep them and no matter where we are, even when I am at home, when I take off my rings for any reason, I put them in the same place. I maintain this ritual and have not had to feel that dread and stress since.

Review: Skinny Jane Weight Loss Challenges

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I am winding up a 7 day review of the Skinny Jane Weight Loss Challenge. As always with these type things, I get a little nervous before starting them. Skinny Jane is normally a 28 day challenge that can see you lose up to 20 pounds, so I wan't sure how effective 7 days would be..... So  on Tuesday Feb. 25th, with a slightly shaky hand I got out the capsules that would start my seven day journey. The directions for this week were to follow a very low calorie regimen to allow the cleanse to work. After reading the suggestions of what to eat, I thought I would starve! I took the Skinny Burn and Skinny Cleanse capsules and following the directions, I drank the Skinny Blend shake about 45 minutes later. First, WOW. The shake tasted GOOD. I chose chocolate, because ...hello! It's chocolate! :) Second, IT WORKED. I was not hungry. At all. I ate some fresh celery and water for lunch, but felt satisfied and full.
By the third day my energy level was up and I was feeling great! There was no shakiness from hunger, in fact I didn't feel hungry at all. I felt satisfied. Each evening having dinner with my two Misters, I was completely satisfied with smaller portions and felt no need for seconds. Another terrific thing was almost immediately, I did not crave sweets like I normally do. I just haven't wanted them.
Weekends always brings about special challenges because if we stay home, I have two guys to feed and if we are on the go we end up eating somewhere else. I skipped taking my supplements on Sunday, but Skinny Jane stayed with me and worked. I ate with my Misters, but was still completely satisfied on smaller portions. Monday I was right back into routine and didn't feel deprived of anything. I have lost about 5 pounds this week. That doesn't sound like a lot but it is a huge motivator. And Skinny Jane is a good alternative to the plans that require you to order their foods and keep up with a shipping schedule because with the tips and menu included, you cook and eat fresh vegetables and foods. I found it pretty easy to cook for my whole family while still following and maintaining my diet too. My 7 day supply is gone, but I was so impressed with this program and the results that I would not only recommend it, but I hope to be able to purchase the full 28 day challenge.
If you'd like to learn more or get motivation tips, you can find Skinny Jane on Facebook or follow on Twitter. You can also purchase the full Skinny Jane 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge on Amazon.
